Exploring Ancient Bronze and Stone Artifacts at Henan Museum

June 13, 2026 · By Symbiotic Design Academy

Spent a few hours exploring the incredible Henan Museum in Zhengzhou. It’s hard to wrap your head around the fact that you’re looking at artifacts that shaped the very cradle of Chinese civilization. Even they say the bronzeware from the Shang and Zhou dynasties are the most treasured ones, I was really touched by the stone carvings and the history they bring with them. Many of them had the faces torn out, in a desperate way of erasing their religious and cultural past. But culture is not set on a stone, it's on people. Seeing the intricate craftsmanship from hundreds and thousands of years ago was surreal.
