New video explores ProtoDesign concept in Chiloé, Chile

We are travelling to the south of Chile, to Patagonia and specially to Chiloe the big island.. There we can identify certain trades on early stages of Design, for which I have decided to use the term ProtoDesign. This term comes from the conjunction of the Greek πρωτο prōto 'first' and the word design. But when I use this word, I refer to all those acts within human creation that are predecessors to design, but they are certainly lacking the complex characteristics of Design.

This field of research is yet to be developed by design. The importance of these manifestations relies on the fact that all of them are or have elements that helped shape Design in its origins. Understanding them would help us understand our discipline and what is design, better.
