Video interview with Buenos Aires artist Gonzalo Arbutti

November 27, 2020 · By Symbiotic Design Academy

In my latest video shot before we all went to lockdown, I had the opportunity to have a real chat with Gonzalo Arbutti. He is a visual artist from Buenos Aires who travels freely through different crafts, being a faithful representative of the Arts and Crafts movement, but in the 21st century. His passion is reflected in a mastery and excellence around wood and the postulates that he imposes in his work. It is visible in him traits and flirtations with other disciplines. Especially with design, of which even when he denies and does not feel close, takes elements and incorporates them into his work. However, this is not only done with design, but also with other disciplines and nearby crafts. Arbutti is a multifaceted creative being par excellence and that beyond allowing us to visit his workshop, he gives us a life lesson.
